What we collect, why, and what you can ask us to do with it.

This policy explains what Occasions Box LLC ("Occasions Box", "we", "us") collects when you visit occasionsbox.com, place an order, talk to us or receive a gift from us, what we do with it, and the choices you have. We are a small gift studio in Fort Lee, New Jersey. We collect what we need to make and deliver gifts, and we do not sell personal information.
When you order. Your name, email address, phone number, and billing and shipping addresses; the recipient's name and address; the boxes you chose; and the card message you write. Payment is taken by PayPal or Stripe on their own secure pages. We receive confirmation that you paid and the details above, never your full card or bank number.
When you contact us. What you enter in our contact, custom gifting or newsletter forms: typically your name, email, phone number, company and message.
When you talk to Olivia. Olivia is our AI gifting assistant, on this website and by phone. Conversations with her are recorded and transcribed, and the transcript and a short summary are saved to our customer records so a person on our team can follow up. If you would rather speak to a person, ask Olivia, or email us.
When you opt in to texts. Your mobile number and the fact, date and time that you ticked "Text me order updates" at checkout. See Text messages below.
Business contact details. If you work at a business we think could use corporate gifting, we may hold your name, job title and work email or phone number, taken from what your business publishes, so that we can introduce ourselves.
Automatically. Your cart is saved in your own browser's local storage so it survives a page reload; it is not sent to us until you check out. Our website host keeps standard server logs, such as IP address, browser type and the pages requested, for security and troubleshooting. We do not use advertising cookies or analytics tracking.
We text you only if you tick "Text me order updates" at checkout. Ticking it is optional and is not a condition of any purchase. Those texts are about your order only: that we have it, that it has shipped, and that it has been delivered, plus any reply about that order. We do not send marketing texts.
Reply STOP at any time and we stop texting that number straight away. Reply HELP for help, or email Hello@occasionsbox.com. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Full details are in the SMS terms.
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging opt-in data and consent are not shared with any third party, except with the text messaging provider that delivers our messages on our behalf.
We do not sell or rent personal information. We share it only with the companies that help us run the business, each for its own job, and only what that job needs:
Some of this website's features load directly from those providers, such as PayPal's payment buttons, Olivia's chat window and our fonts. When they load, your browser connects to the provider, which receives your IP address and may set its own cookies under its own privacy policy.
We may also disclose information when the law requires it, or to protect our rights or someone's safety.
Order and payment records are kept for as long as tax and accounting law requires. Other information is kept while we have a reason to use it, and deleted or anonymised when we no longer do. Gifting Concierge recipient files are deleted on request.
You can ask us to show you the personal information we hold about you, correct it, or delete it, and you can opt out of our emails and texts at any time. Email Hello@occasionsbox.com and we will respond within 30 days. We may need to keep some records, such as past orders, where the law requires it, and we will tell you if so.
We use reputable providers, encrypted connections and access limited to our team. No system is perfectly secure, but card details never touch our systems, and we would tell you promptly if a breach affected your information.
This website is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.
We may update this policy. The date at the top tells you when it last changed, and a significant change will be noted on this page.
